Computer and Internet Access
12 public access computer stations available which are equipped for internet access, word
processing and printing.
3 laptop computers are available for public checkout to be used in-house only.
1 public access computer is available in the genealogy room for genealogical research only.
The library is Wi-fi capable and has outlets for those that wish to plug in rather than run off
battery pack.
All patrons with a current library card are capable of checking out a computer or laptop for a
period of one hour. Those wishing to reserve a station need to do so by calling or asking ahead of
time of their visit otherwise stations are checked out as they come available at the lapse of a
patron's one hour time period.
Those person's who do not have a valid MCPL card can use the computer stations provided that
they obtain a temporary card and have read the computer usage rules.
Children under 18 are required to have a parent or guardians signature before using the computer
stations. Six of the public computer stations as well as the three available laptops are equipped
with internet filtering systems. Children under 18 may only use these filtered stations.
Any child under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult at all times if they are using
the computer stations.
Inter-Library Loan
The library will borrow books from other libraries within the inter-library loan system if we do not
own a title that a patron has requested, if we are unable to purchase a title, or if the title isn't
found to be an collection addition that meets our libraries guidelines. A patron need only fill out
an inter-library request form which can be obtained at the service desk. A patron needs to have
a current MCPL card and that card needs to be in good standing (no outstanding fines or over due
items). The inter-library loan system does not allow for loaning of audio books or video/dvd
resources.
Photo-Copies and Computer Printing Services
The library currently has one self serve photo-copy machine for public use, black and
white copies only. The fee for use of this machine is .10 cents per page (per side).
Public Computer Stations are equipped for printing. The fees for this service are:
Black and White Print Jobs = .10 cents per page
Color Print Jobs = Whole Page Regular Paper - 2.00
Photo Paper - 5.00 (regardless of photo size)
1/2 Page Regular Paper - 1.00
1/4 Page Regular Paper - .50 cents
Faxing Services Are Available To The Public
Fax fees = First Page - 1.00 Each additional page - .25 cents per page
Cover Sheet = .10 cents
Laminating
Lamination is available to the public. Those wishing to have items laminated need to
notify a staff member as that it takes at least 30 minutes for the machine to fully heat
up. Only staff can use the machine.
The fee for this service is 1.00 per foot of laminating.
