Procedure For Formal Challenges Of Library Materials
Patrons wishing to lodge a formal complaint about a title/item within the collections at Marion County Public Library should do so by contacting the library director, currently Amy Morgeson. The director will add the name of the pursing lodging the complaint to the upcoming Board Meeting Agenda. This needs to be done within 48 hours prior to the meeting to ensure that the agenda is posted publicly.
Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of Each Month at 4:15 p.m. here at MCPL.
If you are challenging a specific title we ask that you have read/viewed the item in it’s entirety and provide a written explanation for why you find no redeeming qualities within the item. This will go to the board members who will in turn also read/view the item in it’s entirety and vote as a group on their findings.
