Jalokafold Book & Chocolate Exchange

Celebrate the cozy Icelandic tradition of Jólabókaflóð, the “Christmas Book Flood,” with a couple hours of books, chocolate, and community! Participants are invited to bring a gently loved or new book to exchange, along with their excitement for discovering a new read.

Upon arrival, guests will drop off their book, enjoy a warm cocoa or hot cider, and browse the growing display of titles. Once the exchange begins, everyone will select a book to take home—paired with a piece of chocolate, just as Icelanders do on Christmas Eve.

This relaxed, feel-good program encourages reading, sharing, and connection through stories. Whether you’re a devoted book lover or simply enjoy a sweet treat, this event offers a warm and welcoming way to celebrate the season.
